Aberdeen Friends & Family

Congrats to McKenzie Kostel who exhibited the Grand Champion Steer at the 2016 Houston Stock Show!  The Black Pearl is a March son of EZ Captain Jack.  Well done!!
If you want to meet an enthusiastic junior member, be on the seats at the National Junior show in Denver on January 22.  One of the heifers Sierra will be showing is EZ Queen Bee 517B.  Sierra selected her when she was a weaned calf and is showing her now as a bred heifer.  They get along so well.  We are very proud she bought one of our heifers for her show string – good luck Sierra!!

HH Prince Charming, Grand Champion American Royal Fullblood Bull Exhibited by Husung Farm and Tummons Cattle, dam is EZ Cinderella 61U Congratulations Jack and Brad!!

Tyler Uhri, age 9, was awarded Reserve Grand Champion honors at the 2011 Nebraska State Fair with a beautiful 4 month old purebred Lisbon daughter, Bar U Lucky Lily. He co-owns the heifer with his sister Jodie, age 6. Here they are after a long day of showing with the fruits of their labor - look at all the hardware!! Congratulations on a great job and a gorgeous heifer!!!
What a great visit we had with Charlie and Bill Waldroff, Rocking B Farms, Needville, TX and their friend Ronnie in July.  They are pictured here on a great day of fishing... just not a great day of catching.  We made up for it though - what fun we had looking at cattle, boating, cooking, eating and telling stories. The Aberdeen breed is lucky to have them!!

We had a great visit with Natarsha and John Canny from Australia in November. They bred and raised Jackaroo and enjoyed seeing his calves here in the US. They didn't get to see any snow but they did get to experience some cold North Dakota weather!
Todd Smith, 3S Cattle Co., Henderson, TX got to experience a real North Dakota blizzard when he came up to visit after the American Royal. Luckily, there was still some time to pheasant hunt after the storm. Our oldest son Cary joined the hunting party. What a great visit, Todd. Next time bring Tanya!!

Mike Hudlow, Heaven Sent Ranch, Fayetteville, Arkansas was a speaker at our 4th Annual Discover Aberdeens Weekend. Neil convinced him to go fishing on Sunday and Mike caught the biggest walleye...good eating!
Clay Wilking showed the Reserve Champion Intermediate Fullblood Heifer Calf at the 2010 Aberdeen Junior National in Muscatine - she is EZ Wishing Star 2W, a Lisbon granddaughter out of a Dakota Pride X Fantasia 20J mother. Great job, Clay!!!

The Wilkings family purchased their first Aberdeens early this fall and exhibited in their first Aberdeen show at the North Star Classic in Valley City, ND on December 4.  Their heifer was Reserve Calf Champion.  Congratulations on a successful show!
Glenn and Nancy Chapman stopped by this summer and we took a quick trip to "Cactus Hill", the highest point on our ranch.

Last summer while checking pastures just before dark, Neil and Jan drove within 10 yards of this fawn hiding in the brush.  Apparently mom told it to stay put!
Jeff, Kristin and "Doc", Tall Grass Prairie, were here Mother's Day weekend to tour the ranch.  We worked in a little walleye fishing on the Missouri River, too.  It was a great weekend.
